From electrical symptoms to a structured investigation
Clarity before corrective expenditure.
Unexpected trips, equipment resets and inconclusive monitoring reports call for investigation—not a predetermined diagnosis. Agree the question, the evidence needed and the limits of the assessment before committing to remedial work.
The engagement distinguishes observed events, calculated results, assumptions and interpretations. A report will state when the available records cannot support a firm conclusion.
The four-stage consulting pathway
A disciplined route from audit to action.
The existing product’s audit, diagnosis, mitigation and verification pathway is retained. The quotation defines which stages, measurements and deliverables are included.
01 / Establish the baseline
Power audits & evidence review
Review the installation, operational symptoms and available records. Define monitoring locations, instrument configuration and the evidence required to answer the agreed technical questions.
02 / Test the explanations
Disturbance & load diagnostics
Assess available voltage and current records, load profiles, harmonic spectra and sequence quantities. Compare electrical events with trip logs and operating conditions before assigning a cause.
03 / Match the response
Mitigation strategy & design scope
Compare appropriate options such as load redistribution, harmonic filtering or power-factor correction only where the diagnosis supports them. Detailed design and installation are separately agreed where required.
04 / Close the evidence loop
Verification & ongoing review
Define post-intervention measurements and acceptance criteria. Repeat monitoring, ongoing event review and compliance assessment are included only if specified in the accepted scope.
Measurement capability is agreed—not assumed
Ask the right questions of the right data.
The source product describes Class S diagnostics. Instrument class, calibration status, CT/VT configuration, measurement location, recording intervals and event settings must be confirmed for the actual assessment. Instrument class alone does not establish that every required compliance or attribution method has been satisfied.
V / I
Voltage & current
True RMS quantities and relevant operating trends, with phase, neutral and measurement configuration identified.
HARMONICS
Spectral assessment
Review harmonic orders and THD supported by the selected instrument and retained records. The source product advertises analysis through the 40th order; confirm the deployed configuration in the proposal.
SEQUENCE
Unbalance assessment
Keep voltage and current unbalance distinct. Identify the sequence-based or magnitude-deviation definition used rather than treating the indices as interchangeable.
EVENTS
Disturbance records
Assess RMS trends, event triggers and oscillograms where captured. Event visibility depends on instrument settings and retained data.
POWER
Load & power metrics
Review active, reactive and apparent power, demand and power factor where suitable records exist. Identify the calculation conventions and operating context.
FLICKER
Additional indices
Include flicker indices and crest factors only where the deployed instrument, method and agreed investigation support them.
Instrument-specific claims are not universal service inclusions. The published figures of 1,100 simultaneous parameters and an IP65 enclosure rating have not been independently verified here and are not promised for every deployment.
A consulting package built around the brief
Deliverables that support decisions.
Select and confirm these proposed deliverables in the accepted statement of work.
Executive brief
The question investigated, material findings, limitations and next decisions.
Technical evidence report
Data provenance, measurement configuration, methods, results and uncertainty within scope.
Prioritised recommendations
Mechanism-matched options, dependencies, constraints and recommended follow-up.
Verification plan
Proposed measurement points and criteria for checking the intervention where commissioned.
Industrial and critical-facility contexts
Relevant to your operating environment.
MANUFACTURING
Production & automation
Investigate disturbances associated with drives, motors, automation and production interruptions.
DATA CENTRES
Critical digital infrastructure
Assess electrical records relevant to UPS systems, sensitive loads and operating continuity—without promising uninterrupted service.
HEALTHCARE
Sensitive facilities
Scope investigations around affected equipment and the facility’s authorised access, safety and operational requirements.
UTILITIES & MICROGRIDS
Network & asset interfaces
Review measurement boundaries, network information and competing explanations for disturbances across connected systems.
Define the engagement before work starts
Scope, timing and fees—agreed in writing.
- Submit a concise problem statement, affected equipment and key event dates.
- Identify available single-line diagrams, monitoring records, trip logs and operating conditions.
- Agree monitoring needs, site access, deliverables, fees and programme.
- Proceed only under the accepted proposal and applicable terms.
Scope boundaries
Instrument hire, travel, site work, switching, hardware, installation, repairs, laboratory testing, detailed design, commissioning, ongoing monitoring and compliance sign-off are not automatically included. Each requires express inclusion and an appropriate competence and authorisation basis.
Frequently asked questions
Before you commission the work.
Is the consultation a fixed-price online purchase?
No service price was displayed on the retrieved product page. This version uses a scoped-proposal enquiry rather than an invented fee or automatic booking.
Does the service guarantee compliance or prevent failures?
No. Conclusions depend on applicable requirements, suitable measurements and equipment-specific evidence. No blanket compliance, uptime, savings or failure-prevention guarantee is offered.
What about cancellations and refunds?
Fees, deposits, mobilisation costs, cancellations and any applicable refund conditions must be disclosed in the accepted proposal and terms, subject to applicable law. An enquiry does not itself reserve personnel or instruments.
Can existing monitoring files be used?
Yes, subject to suitability review. Identify the instrument, configuration, timestamps, measurement points, capture intervals and available raw records. Missing or aggregated data may limit conclusions.
Will the investigation establish responsibility?
Attribution is an investigation objective, not a guaranteed result. Utility, customer and equipment explanations must be tested against the available evidence.
Is the source brand retained?
The source product lists The PQ-Stewardship Academy™. It is retained as a product-level Brand attribute in this CSV; this does not assert a certification or accreditation.
Your next step
Turn uncertainty into a scoped investigation.
Describe the disturbance and the operational decision you need to make. Agulhas can then define a proportionate technical proposal.
